Another peek at recent work for California Botanical Solutions, a consulting collective supporting cannabis companies with everything from the science to business development to brand strategy and design. 🌿 Loved working on these postcards. We have such a soft spot for print and seeing brands come to life!
7-9/100: How can we trick our brain into seeing differently? This weekend we played around with the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" a classic art school read that provides all sorts of exercises for getting our brains out of their standard modes of seeing. In the first exercise we played with focusing only on contours. Following just the edges with our eyes. This one is also fun to do when not looking at the paper, though the results are quite a bit more abstract! In the second exercise, we focused on trying to see only the negative space. In the third (and quite possibly our favorite) we tackled a drawing upside-down. It's amazing what happens when you turn something upside-down. It goes from being something recognizable to your brain (i.e. a person holding binoculars) to something that is simply … shapes, shades and contours. Your brain can turn off trying to make it "look" like the object and just relax into drawing exactly what you see in front of you. Seriously give it a try! Outside of drawing, we're pondering how we can shift our way of seeing for other creative challenges as well. If anyone has any good little hacks or recommendations that come to mind, do share! #the100dayproject #100daysofexploringcreativeprocess
We teamed up with Ariana’s husband @pritchett.jake to launch a consulting collective supporting cannabis companies with everything from the science 🔬 to business development 📊 to brand strategy and design 🎯. Our primary aim is in supporting local and under-represented producers(we’re looking at you females and POC)to claim their place in this new market and preventing big conglomerates from creating a monopoly on this up and coming industry 🌿 #fdcoportfolio
6/100: What are your non-optimal times for getting things done? When does your mind tend to wander most? Good news for sleepy new parents out there, these times could be when you're at your most creative. 😴✨ #the100dayproject #100daysofexploringcreativeprocess
We had so much fun celebrating the launch of the new photography space @altura_oakland run by our dear client and friend, photographer @karen__santos! We're lucky to be studio neighbors and were thrilled to host @theladyoflightning for some tarot readings downstairs! It’s always fun to spend time with so many clients, colleagues, and internet friends in the real world, and all agree this should become a more regular gathering✨

5/100: What if your problem existed in THIS universe? Can reframing our thinking help open us up to possible solutions we might not otherwise be able to see? 🔬-- 🔭#the100dayproject #100daysofexploringcreativeprocess
4/100: Some habits support our creative output and some leave us feeling stagnant. How can we cultivate the good ones? #the100dayproject #100daysofexploringcreativeprocess
3/100: Creativity isn't all just illumination. Once you have that ⚡️idea, how do you know it's the right one? #the100dayproject #100daysofexploringcreativeprocess
