Alameda Health System is a public health system serving Alameda County with a deep commitment to equitable, compassionate care for all, regardless of social or financial barriers.
As a longtime pillar in East Bay communities, AHS operates hospitals, clinics, and specialty care facilities across the region, providing culturally sensitive care to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. Their mission is rooted in the belief that quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege, and that the people who provide that care should reflect the communities they serve.

ANNUAL REPORT
AHS came to us with a clear vision: an annual report that showed real people doing real work, no stock photography, no AI imagery. Partnering with photographer Carolyn Fong, we art directed a three-day journalistic-style photoshoot across seven AHS community medical facilities, capturing patients, practitioners, and executives who reflect the communities AHS serves.
The design work that followed was shaped by those personal connections. Having spoken directly with many of the people featured in the report, we brought that depth into every layout decision. The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive, and the report has since become a powerful tool for connecting with elected officials, community leaders, and potential donors who may not have known the full breadth of what AHS does.
BRAND COLLATERAL
Beyond the annual report, we developed a suite of branded collateral templates to help AHS communicate consistently across their many community touchpoints. Every piece was built to reflect the diversity of the communities AHS serves, including multilingual applications of their mission statement in English, Spanish, and Chinese. The visual brand refresh gave AHS's team a flexible, cohesive system they could apply across signage, print materials, and digital platforms, ensuring that whether a patient encounters AHS on a billboard, in a waiting room, or online, the experience feels unified, warm, and reflective of who AHS is and who they serve.
